I have released abuild version 1.1.b1.  This is the first beta
preceding the release of abuild 1.1.  The changes from version 1.0 are
extensive, though abuild 1.1 will operate in backward compatibility
mode by default.  The main enhancements in version 1.1 are a new
Groovy-based backend for building Java code and a complete revamped,
simplified build tree structure that replaces "externals" with named
trees and named tree dependencies.  Visit http://www.abuild.org for
